Logan Health – Cut Bank (LHCB) is proud to announce a new school-based health center that will expand access to care for families in the community. The school-based health center will be located in Cut Bank Middle School and provide care for school administration, staff and students across the district.
Wellness exams, same-day acute care, medication management, sports physicals, behavioral health, and mental health will be available for patients. Immunizations will not be provided. Logan Health Rural Health Clinic – Cut Bank providers, Claire Reynolds, FNP-C, will offer acute care, while Ashley Kimmet, LCPC, will provide behavioral health and mental health appointments and outreach. Students will require parental consent to be seen by a provider individually. Both care providers bring years of experience to the Cut Bank community and are excited to expand outreach to the school district.
“We are grateful to partner with the Montana Healthcare Foundation and bring a new care option for our students,” said Logan Health Rural Health Clinic – Cut Bank Manager, Heather Nunn. “The community has been asking about this option for a long time and we are excited to make it a reality.”
This new school-based health center was made possible through the Montana Healthcare Foundation’s School-Based Health Initiative, which has already supported the startup of over 58 of the state’s highest-needed schools. The initiative focuses on providing high-quality, convenient care and serving families in a familiar place to support better academic outcomes.
“School-based health centers benefit everyone and offer an opportunity to help schools address their students’ unique needs, while giving staff access to the same care at great convenience,” said Montana Healthcare Foundation’s CEO, Aaron Wernham, MD.
The school-based health center is officially open as of Thursday, October 5. The providers will see patients on Wednesdays from 9 am –11 am for behavioral and mental health care, and Thursdays from 9 am – noon for all other acute needs.
