Dr. Eddie Jones, MD, FACS, FASGE, joined the Logan Health medical staff in January 2024. Dr. Jones practices at Logan Health – Cut Bank and Logan Health – Shelby. He specializes in general surgery and advanced endoscopy, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. Originally from Conrad, Montana, Dr. Jones earned his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Public Policy at Harvard University and completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Colorado. He further honed his skills through a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery, flexible endoscopy, and ERCP at the Ohio State University. Since completing his fellowship, Dr. Jones joined the faculty at the University of Colorado, where he is an Associate Professor of Surgery; he performs the majority of his procedures at the Denver VA Medical Center, where he is the Deputy Chief of Surgery. Dr. Jones regularly presents on gastrointestinal and surgical topics at regional and national meetings. He has contributed extensively to the medical literature with nearly 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including research on access to rural surgery, post-operative recovery with wearable devices, and surgical energy.
Dr. Jones is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He also actively participates in the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Association of VA Surgeons, the Association for Academic Surgery among others. He is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve and has been deployed three times, most recently to Al Assad Airbase, Iraq. Dr. Jones’ dedication to deliver high-quality surgical and gastrointestinal care is driven by his patients and he is unaware of a more fulfilling job! Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family in Montana, coaching his two daughters in wrestling, chauffeuring them to practices and sleepovers, and trying to maintain his fitness working alongside his wife Teresa, who is also a general surgeon specializing in trauma and critical care.
