On Tuesday, November 12, Logan Health Assisted Living – Shelby will be hosting their annual activity fundraising dinner from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Shelby Civic Center. The theme this year is Holiday Hoedown! The menu features delicious soups, salad, assorted bread, a full grazing table and a variety of desserts. Tickets are sold at the door for $20 or $100 for a family of six.
Guests will be entertained with live holiday and country style music from Dave Wallewein and Kris Ryan. There will also be a live and silent auction of holiday wreaths, gift baskets, Christmas trees and more!
Proceeds from the event directly support the resident’s quality of life at Logan Health Assisted Living – Shelby. “This year is the third assisted living activity department fundraiser that our activities director, Jana Judisch, and I have put on,” said Lisa Leck, Logan Health Assisted Living Administrator. “The event is so important to our residents as the funds we raise impact their daily lives in a positive way.”
Plans include installing a walking path in the back courtyard of the assisted living facility, so the residents have a safe, even path to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. “Our area has the highest rate of injury related to falls in the nation, related to weather and terrain, and we want to do everything we can to prevent falls, yet promote independence and quality of life,” said Leck.
Funds are also for day trips, crafts and other special events throughout the year. “Without the support of the community, we wouldn’t be able to take the residents on day trips, bring in entertainment for them, and have the funds to make crafts and have parties,” explains Leck. “The residents look forward to this evening of entertainment and they enjoy visiting with community members who attend.”
